16 June to 25 June 2018 Austria from East to West SOLD OUT

Saturday 16 June 2018 to Monday 25 June 2018

This holiday takes in three important, but very different, centres of culture in Austria. Starting in Vienna, and staying at the Imperial Hotel, we attend a Mass at the Imperial Court Chapel sung by the Vienna Boys' Choir, dine in some of the finest restaurants in the city, take a private bus tour, attend the Vienna State Opera's performance of Tosca, and make an excursion to Bösendorfer Piano Factory at Wiener Neustadt and to Eisenstadt where Haydn worked for the Esterhazy Family during the 18th century. Moving on to Salzburg, we visit Mozart's birthplace and residence, take a Sound of Music tour, and enjoy two dinners at the famous St Peter Stiftskeller and up at the Fortress overlooking the city, followed by a concert in the Goldenersaal. In Schwarzenberg with its glorious alpine setting, we enjoy chamber concerts at the annual Schubertiade as well as taking an excursion to Lindau and Bregenz, and a short cruise on Lake Constance.
